Gabriela Enrigue, Fundadora de Prospera
Founder

Since June 2008, Gabriela has been consulting for the World Bank Group in the Finance and Private Sector Development Division, where she collaborates with the Doing Business project. She has worked in countries including Colombia, Kenya, Indonesia, the Phillippines and Pakistan, to improve commercial regulations and foster entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) growth.  In 2008, she co-founded CREA, a non-profit focused on empowering women entrepreneurs in rural Mexico.  In 2009 she founded PROSPERA, a social enterprises offering low cost supplies for microenterprises, where she is in charge of strategic partnerships, fundraising, finance and leading the PROSPERA team to begin formal operations by the beginning of 2010. She has received the Banamex National Economics Award (2006), is an Echoing Green Fellow for social entrepreneurship (2008) and received the Architect of the Future 2009. Ms. Enrigue received her Master of Public Policy degree from the University of California, Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy in 2008. She also holds undergraduate degrees in both Economics and Political Science from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).

Alberto Castillo Miranda
Advisor or family enterprises

My name is Alberto Castillo Miranda, I have a degree of International Commerce from  Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA). I work as part of the Body of Advisors in the area of ​​Learn and Prosper.                                                                                                                                My participation involves giving training, guidance and direct support to all those businesses and/or entrepreneurs who come to the firm conviction of crystallizing the dream of seeing their business becoming profitable and successful
My motivation? This stems from the positive energy that is transmitted between Prosperandos and the dream of making this country a better place; "to do, to teach to do, and to let do". To encourage he thirst for victory that becomes the guiding thread that changes lives, that makes you a better citizen, and that nourishes your profession and that translates into welfare.

Eduardo Venegas
"Save and Prosper" coordinator

My name is Eduardo Venegas and I have a Bachelors degree in Marketing from the ITESO (Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente). On a daily basis I make sure that our "Prosperandos" get lowest the cost on their raw materials for their product so they can improve their income . What motivates me most about my job is to see how entrepreneurs make their businesses and grow and thrive with the support we provide in Prospera. I enjoy talking with entrepreneurs, sharing ideas to improve their businesses and knowing that my work is beeing reflected in the development of small businesses throught Mexico.

"Be Responsible" Coordinator

My name is Maria Fernanda Lopez, I am an Industrial Engineer currently studying at the  ITESO. In Prospera, I am in charge of the General Administration, I make sure that all the goals and objectives of our team members will be met for the greater good of our "Prosperandos". 
Working at Prospera I have the opportunity to give a little bit to make the change our country needs. The country where I, my family and my peers will live in a near future with, I am hoping, a better quality of life for all. I am very happy to help bring change to Mexico and I am open to any proposal, initiative, questions or suggestions you have for Prospera or for the country. I believe all ideas are valuable to change course.

 

Jesus Fregoso Cruz
Responsible for warehouse and distribution

My name is Jose de Jesus Fregoso Cruz and I'm from Guadalajara. In Prospera I am in charge of warehouse logistics and transport. I help families by safely delivering their products. My job at Prospera is very different to what I have always done, but at the end of the day it is very rewarding to see the results. I think we have a great team, this helps to make everyday work easier.
 
 
Juan Pablo Guzmán
Financial Adviser

My name is Juan Pablo Guzmán de Alba and I have a Bachelor´s degree in Financial Management from the ITESO. In Prospera I Hold the position of financial adviser, where I make sure to provide the basics for entrepreneurs to maximize the profits of their business. What motivates me  the most about my job is that i get to work with Mexican families who have  or want to have their own business, and I help them become more competitive and profitable by providing them with advice and training. Working on a daily basis with people is what amuses me the most, because I share their stories and experiences throughout their career as entrepreneurs.

My name is Macarena Hernandez Obeso. I was born in Guadalajara and I`m an Industrial Engineer graduate from the ITESO. I like to constantly give the best of me and feel useful. I love being part of Prospera, where I am in charge of bringing the products from our entrepreneurial families to responsible consumers. What motivates me the most is to have the opportunity to apply my knowledge, my being and acting to the benefit of our society.

Business Consultant

My name is Mariana Vazquez Covarrubias, I am an Industrial Engineer from the ITESO. I currently work as a business consultant. I am commissioned to provide the necessary tools to help our “Prosperandos”  thrive. I help them improve their businesses by suggesting ways of making them competitive and generate more revenue. I feel motivated every day to be able to work  hand in hand with people who wish to stand out. Thanks to their tenacity, I realized that Mexico can be a better country. I enjoy my job because I constantly get to work with people who have something interesting to teach me.

General Maintenance

My name is Pachita Rosas I was born in San Luis Potosi. In Prospera I am in charge of general cleaning and supplies.Sometimes, I also help with packaging up products in boxes when there is a big event. I like to meet all the families that come to Prospera and I love to hear their stories. I am greatly motivated to be part of this project.

My name is Sandra Fernández, I graduated with a degree in industrial engineering from ITESO.  soy egresada de la carrera de ingeniería Industrial por el Iteso. I am the  coordinator of general administration and finance at Prospera, I make sure that the resources and efforts of the team are managed effectively. I like and am motivated to learn new and innovaive things, something that I have found at Prospera since I arrived.

My name is Clifton Hardle, I study International Relations and Economics at BYU. With Prospera I serve as a website contributor. I love entrepreneurship and I love personal and social development, that's why I love Prospera. During my time in Mexico I learned to speak Spanish and I learned to love Mexico and the Mexican people; in my studies and work experience I have grown to love entrepreneurship and creativity. Prospera provides a great platform for inspiring creativity, providing opportunities for entrepreneurship and creating real social change and benefit for Mexico.

Dr. Michael Gerber, Director Emérito African Medical Research Foundation

Since 1969, Dr. Gerber has worked in some of the poorest countries of Asia and Africa, retiring in 1998 as Director General of the African Medical Research Foundation and its well-known Flying Doctors. He served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines, and has held voluntary positions on numerous non-profit and international organization Boards. Until July of 2007 he was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR), in the Philippines. He lives in Portugal with his wife. 

 

 

Gabriel Aguilera, Profesor de Ciencia Política en UC Chico.

An Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations at California State University, Chico where he coordinates the International Relations program and teaches courses on research methods, international political economy, and the politics of development.  Gabriel’s research is on the politics of financial regulation in Latin America and he has conducted extensive field work in Mexico and Venezuela.  His current research focuses on Mexican-Americans and their participation in the U.S. armed forces.  He has worked as a policy consultant for the State of California.

 

 

George Sycip, Presidente, Halanna Management Corporation

Founder and CEO of Galaxaco China Group LLC and advises a variety of companies in their cross-border endeavors between the US/Europe and Asia. Prior to setting up his own offices, Mr. Sycip had a career in banking, internationally and domestically, including serving as Chief Financial Officer of United Savings Bank in California. He currently serves on several corporate boards with companies that together employ more than 15,000 people in developing countries, across a variety of industries ranging from food processing to airport services to garments & textiles to business process outsourcing. Mr. Sycip currently serves as a Trustee or Board Member of the International Institute for Rural Reconstruction, Give2Asia, Stanford University's Institute for International Studies, and the California Asia Business Council. He also served as Commissioner for the City of San Francisco's Social Services Department. 

 

Héctor Cárdenas, Presidente y Director, The Ergo Group

President and CEO of The Ergo Group. He has consulted with government agencies at the federal, state and local levels in both the US and Mexico. He has specialized in public management with a particular emphasis on business process re-engineering and the use of information technologies to improve government services. He is on the board of Nacional Financiera's California Business Council and is President of Silicon Valley Mexico Talent Network, a non-profit organization that brings together Mexican executives and knowledge economy professionals interested in fostering Mexico's development.

 

 

Miguel Domingo, Marketing T-Mobile

Miguel is Prospera's strategy advisor and all-around-troubleshooter. He is an almunus of Accenture and Amazon.com and currently develops customer retention strategy for T-Mobile USA. He received his MBA from UC Berkeley in 2008 and his undergraduate degree in Business from Ateneo de Manila University in The Philippines.

Naeem Zafar, Presidente de OPEN Silicon Valley Forum

Naeem is a part of the faculty of Haas Business School at the University of California Berkeley where he teaches Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the MBA program. Naeem is also with Concordia Ventures and focuses on educating and advising entrepreneurs with all aspects of starting and running a company. Naeem has been with six startups and has extensive experience in mentoring and coaching CEOs. He is now starting his next venture under the name of Institute for Service Organization Excellence (ISOE).

Roberto Carlos Gutiérrez
Roberto Carlos Gutiérrez received a degree in International Relations from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM), holds a Master's degree from Georgetown University, and has completed several specialization courses in Prague, Ottawa, Moscow and Washington, DC He is bilingual in English and Spanish, and is accredited in the French language. He has over ten years experience in the public and private sectors, has worked for the Mexican government in embassies in Canada and the Czech Republic. He has served as advisor to the Secretary for Political Affairs of the Organization of American States (OAS) and as an analyst for the consulting firm Kissinger McLarty Associates. Recently, he led the consulting team that advised the state government of Guanajuato in the development and implementation of the State Plan for Competitiveness and initiatives to boost competitiveness in the sectors of: footwear, fresh food, corn, cultural tourism, conference tourism , health and wellness tourism. Roberto Carlos is also the founding Executive Director of the IDEA for Mexico and Latin America, and professor of economics at the Universidad Iberoamericana León.
